5 Ways to Enjoy the Sun on a Budget | CityBlock

Winter is finally coming to end and the sun is shining, so you know what that means; it’s time to have some fun…but that doesn’t mean spending loads of money! It’s good to have a break from your revision, coursework and studying, and of course the best way to do that is to get outside to embrace the fabulous spring sunshine (well, you never know when it will be back again in England!). So here are 5 ways that students can enjoy the sun on a budget.

1.       Have a Picnic

If there is one way to take advantage of the sun without spending a lot of money it is by having a picnic. Whether there are 2 of you or 10 of you, you can have a spectacular day; make a few sandwiches and buy a large bag of crisps and have a fabulous time! Our student accommodation in Lancaster is located close to amazing parks – the perfect place for enjoying a picnic.

2.       Play Football in the Park

Get active and play a game of football (or Frisbee!) in the park. If you are feeling stressed about your dissertation, getting competitive is an excellent way to blow off steam and enjoy yourself. Exercise isn’t just good for the body it is also good for the soul and will certainly make you feel fantastic.

3.       Relax with a Good Book

Bring your blanket and your favourite book (or e-reader!) or your revision to the local park and simply enjoy the weather. Reading something you love is a wonderful way to unwind when you have been writing an essay all day – best of all it costs nothing! Our student accommodation in Lancaster isn’t too far from Williamson Park which is the perfect place for relaxing and taking in the ambience.

4.       BBQ with Friends

Every student loves food and there is nothing better than enjoying a hamburger or a hotdog with your closest friends – it’s a great way to relax after a hard day of lectures. Split the cost between your friends so that you can have mountains of food for less of a price. In our opinion, it’s never too early to have a BBQ!

5.       Go Walking

England is a beautiful place to live, and going on a group walk with all of your friends is the best way to take in all of the wonders of nature and the city where you live. Try not to get lost, and reward yourself with a pub lunch at the end of it.

So if you’re looking to take a break from studying get out in the sunshine and take advantage of it while you can!
